ASANDER, king 47-17 BC. Stater, gold, 32-31 BC. AV 8.10 g. Diademed head r. Rev. BASILEWS -ASANDROU Nike with open wings standing l. on prow of ship, holding long palm with her l. hand, crowning king's name with her raised r. hand; in field, date QI (= year 19 of reign). Anhokin cf. 147, 237 (year 18). RPC I, cf. 331, 1847 (year 19 not known). Unique issue of a rare coinage. Some cuffs on obv., rev. from slightly worn die.
